Intervention Specialist

About the role

Accel Schools is looking for a qualified Intervention Specialist to join Cornerstone Academy – Elementary in Westerville, Ohio. The specialist will support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by delivering targeted instructional and behavioral interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities.
• Assist in designing and implementing classroom intervention strategies and modify curriculum as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic and functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings, draft IEP goals and objectives.
• Apply research‑based best practices and culturally responsive teaching.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students and communicate regularly with families.
• Participate in planning non‑instructional activities such as social events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Current state license for special education.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core.
• Experience in full‑room inclusion or co‑teaching/resource‑room models.
• Comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
