International Trade Manager

About the role

The Georgia Department of Economic Development is seeking an International Trade Manager to help Georgia companies expand their sales abroad. You will provide export counseling, develop trade promotion programs, and act as a bridge between businesses and export‑related partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one export counseling to qualified Georgia exporters, helping them create international business plans and connect with overseas contacts.
• Design and implement trade promotion programs to recruit new companies and grow the state’s export client base.
• Establish and nurture relationships with trade partners, local communities, and industry associations.
• Organize and manage trade promotion events, including trade shows, inbound and outbound buyer delegations, and export seminars.
• Conduct research on potential international markets, market trends, trade policies, and other export‑related data.
• Collaborate with federal, state, and local export promotion partners such as the Small Business International Development Center, EXIM Bank, and the U.S. Commercial Service.

Required profile

• Proven experience providing export counseling and supporting companies in international sales.
• Ability to develop comprehensive international business plans.
• Strong knowledge of market research, trade policies, and export development processes.
• Experience working with trade promotion partners and industry associations.
