Internal Auditor II – Texas A&M System

About the role

The Internal Auditor II provides independent assurance and advisory services across the Texas A&M University System. Working under general supervision, the auditor applies professional standards to evaluate processes, identify risks, and recommend improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and risk analysis for assurance and advisory engagements.
• Gather and review information on organizational strategies, objectives, and processes.
• Identify and assess relevant risks to define audit scope and methodology.
• Research applicable criteria, administer questionnaires, and conduct interviews.
• Apply sampling techniques, collect and analyze evidence, and test controls and transactions.
• Prepare comprehensive workpapers that support audit conclusions.
• Draft observations, recommendations, and professional communications.
• Communicate status updates and potential issues to supervisors and team members.
• Participate in team discussions, share information, and attend stakeholder meetings.
