Inter-regional Adviser in Sustainable Financing Strategies

About the role

The Inter‑regional Adviser will provide high‑level policy advice on sustainable financing strategies to governments and stakeholders in developing countries. Working within the Policy Analysis and Development Branch of the Financing for Sustainable Development Office, the adviser supports the implementation of international financing commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver policy advice online and through short‑term field missions on sustainable financing and integrated national financing frameworks.
• Monitor, study and analyse trends and best practices, producing advisory notes for governments and intergovernmental processes.
• Lead the design or redesign of national policies and strategies to achieve Sustainable Development Goals and related international standards.
• Design, implement and evaluate capacity‑development programmes at national, regional and global levels.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting of financing initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience providing policy advice to governments on financing for sustainable development.
• Proven ability to analyse macro‑economic and macro‑fiscal dimensions of financing strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership in designing national policies, strategies and capacity‑development programmes.
• Familiarity with the Financing for Development outcomes, including the Sevilla Commitment.
