Intensive Case Management Intern (Unpaid)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a motivated Intensive Case Management Intern to support newly arrived refugees and immigrants in New Jersey. This unpaid internship offers hands‑on experience in assessing client needs, coordinating services, and building resilience for vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the ICM team to evaluate skill and resource gaps for clients.
• Assist in developing and implementing individualized service plans.
• Leverage community connections to enhance support for refugees, including those with severe health conditions, elderly, LGBTQ+, single‑parent households, and survivors of gender‑based violence.
• Conduct wellness assessments at designated intervals and maintain comprehensive case documentation.

Required profile

• Based in the United States and able to work on‑site in New Jersey.
• Currently enrolled in, or graduated within the last two years from, a post‑secondary institution.
• Preferred academic background: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field.
