Intensive Case Management Intern – Fall 2026 (Unpaid)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a motivated Intensive Case Management (ICM) Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This unpaid position supports vulnerable refugees and displaced persons during their first five years of resettlement, helping them achieve self‑sufficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Attend intern orientation and training sessions.
• Conduct client check‑ins via phone, video, or in‑person, according to client preference.
• Assist with ICM client intakes, assessments, and the development of individualized action plans.
• Educate clients on U.S. healthcare and benefits systems as needed.
• Provide transportation to appointments and accompany clients when appropriate.
• Coordinate with community partners for case management and referrals.
• Explore community resources and support clients with internal and external referrals.
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks such as collecting signatures, completing paperwork, and delivering items to client homes.

Required profile

• Solutions‑driven, passionate about humanitarian work.
• Comfortable working with refugees, seniors, single‑parent households, and survivors of gender‑based violence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
