Intensive Care Nurse – Critical Care Officer (US Navy)

About the role

The United States Navy is recruiting experienced critical‑care registered nurses to serve as commissioned officers in the Navy Nurse Corps. In this full‑time position you will deliver advanced nursing care to critically ill and injured patients while also fulfilling leadership and military duties worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to high‑acuity patients in critical‑care settings.
• Assess patient status, recognize rapid clinical changes, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment, including ventilators and cardiac monitors.
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, corpsmen and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate and prioritize care plans for complex cases.
• Mentor and lead junior medical personnel.
• Participate in medical readiness training and support Navy or joint operations as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) with critical‑care experience.
• Eligibility for commissioning as a Navy officer.
• Willingness to serve at U.S. or overseas Navy medical facilities.
• Ability to work in high‑stress, fast‑paced environments.
