Integrations Engineer

About the role

Iris is building an AI‑native financial operating system and needs an Integrations Engineer to connect customers' financial systems to the platform. You will design, implement, and maintain data pipelines that ingest and normalize financial data from a variety of external sources.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain production integrations with accounting, payroll, commerce, banking, payment, supply‑chain and marketing platforms.
• Design the ingestion and normalization layer that transforms heterogeneous financial schemas into a consistent format for downstream processing.
• Implement and manage authentication flows such as OAuth 2.0, API keys and webhook verification, including token lifecycle and credential storage.
• Ensure integrations are observable, handle rate limits, partial syncs, upstream failures and schema changes, and provide reliable recovery mechanisms.
• Contribute to the evolution of the integration framework, defining connector abstractions and extensibility strategies.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years building production integrations or data pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience integrating with financial platforms (e.g., accounting software, payroll systems, commerce platforms, bank data providers).
• Strong understanding of financial data flows and basic financial literacy.
• Proven ability to monitor, debug, and maintain data quality in production environments.
