Insurance Verification Specialist III

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist III to join its patient services team. In this role you will ensure accurate verification of patient insurance coverage and support billing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery.
• Communicate with insurers, patients, and clinical staff to resolve coverage issues.
• Document verification results in the electronic health record system.
• Assist with pre‑authorization requests and coordinate referrals.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations related to insurance verification.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health administration preferred.
• Prior experience in insurance verification or medical billing, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, insurers, and internal teams.
