Instrumentation Technician - Nights

About the role

Amgen is hiring an Instrumentation Technician for its ARI site, working nights on a 12-hour rotating shift (7 PM to 7 AM, C shift). During the initial onboarding and training phase (2-6 weeks) the schedule is administrative, Monday through Friday, about 8 am to 5 pm. The role covers calibration, repair, installation and troubleshooting of instruments, process control systems and equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform instrument calibrations for process, utility and analytical equipment and systems
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control system issues
• Carry out advanced maintenance and repair on equipment used in manufacturing, the process development laboratory, the quality analytical laboratory or other parts of the ARI site
• Work safely, according to procedures, and communicate work to system operators and key stakeholders
• Complete work order documentation accurately and identify improvements, recommending solutions and helping implement them
• Support colleagues, including outside normal working hours, nights, weekends and holidays

Required profile

• High school diploma / GED and 1 year of instrumentation and/or calibration work or military experience, or an associate's degree
• Preferred: 3+ years of combined education, training and experience with instrumentation and calibration
• Ability to work with minimal direction and effective written and verbal communication
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays

Required skills

• Knowledge of Maximo CMMS or equivalent
• Understanding of process control loops, loop checks and loop tuning
• Preferred: Rosemount instrumentation, Foundation Fieldbus and Delta V process control system
• Preferred: formal instrumentation education or training
