Instrumentation Technician Internship

About the role

BASF is seeking a motivated Instrumentation Intern to join its Geismar, LA site. This 3‑4 month program offers hands‑on experience in industrial instrumentation and control systems, supporting the daily work of BASF instrument technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Assist instrument technicians with routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of process instrumentation.
• Support the installation and commissioning of new instrumentation and control devices.
• Document work activities, test results, and equipment status in accordance with BASF standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.

Required profile

• Current student in the final semester or recent graduate of Industrial Instrumentation Technology or Instrument & Control Systems Technology.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 and a letter of recommendation from a professor.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restrictions.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and a solid work ethic.
