Instrument Technician I – RME

About the role

The Instrument Technician I – RME will join the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, supporting the Instrumentation, Clinical Engineering (ICE) and Perioperative departments. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on technical assistance for medical equipment used in research, education and patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of medical instruments.
• Assist senior technicians with equipment installations and repairs.
• Document service activities and maintain equipment logs in compliance with UAMS policies.
• Support the RME (Radiology/Molecular Engineering) team in ensuring equipment readiness for clinical procedures.

Required profile

• Current University of Arkansas System employee (including student employees or graduate assistants) eligible to apply through Workday.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Commitment to patient safety and teamwork in a clinical environment.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of medical instrumentation and safety protocols.
