Instructor/Assistant Professor, Graphic Design

About the role

This position is an academic appointment focused on teaching and advancing the undergraduate graphic design program. The incumbent will join a collaborative department to deliver high‑quality design education.

Key responsibilities

• Teach three courses per semester across design foundations, special topics, digital media, and other departmental offerings.
• Maintain studio facilities and equipment specific to the graphic design area.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of a strong, well‑rounded undergraduate graphic design curriculum.
• Advise and mentor students throughout their academic journey.
• Manage area budgets and allocate resources effectively.
• Fulfill teaching, research, and service expectations of the department and university.
• Maintain a high level of scholarly activity.

Required profile

• Academic background in graphic design or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching design courses at the undergraduate level.
• Ability to advise students and contribute to curriculum development.
• Capacity to manage studio resources and departmental budgets.
• Commitment to scholarly research and service within the university community.
