Instructor – Pediatric Cardiology Critical Care

About the role
The McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston seeks a full‑time, non‑tenure clinical track Instructor to join the Children’s Heart Institute’s Center for Innovation and Congenital Heart Disease. The role blends research, grant development, and hands‑on teaching for students ranging from high‑school to PhD level.
Key responsibilities
- Write and submit research grants to support the Center’s projects.
- Assist with laboratory activities, including cell‑culture maintenance and bioink fabrication.
- Teach and mentor participants in the summer program, covering topics in pediatric cardiology and critical care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across bioengineering, cardiology, surgery, imaging, and translational medicine.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Center.
Required profile
- PhD in a relevant scientific or medical field.
- Strong grant‑writing abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to excellence, discovery, and service in pediatric cardiac care.
