About the role
Georgia Northwestern Technical College seeks a dedicated Instructor of Welding and Joining Technology for a full‑time evening position on the Walker County Campus. You will teach credited technical courses, advise students, and support the college’s mission of delivering high‑quality vocational education.
Key responsibilities
- Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans for welding and joining technology classes.
- Evaluate student progress and maintain academic records.
- Request and manage supplies, equipment, and budget allocations.
- Ensure safety and certification requirements are met in the training area.
- Maintain documentation, reports, and program accreditation records.
- Collaborate with students, staff, and other educators on instructional matters.
- Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.
Required profile
- Certificate, diploma or degree in Welding and Joining Technology or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least three years of paid welding‑related work experience within the past seven years.
- Knowledge of pedagogical practices and post‑secondary vocational education.
- Ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
- Commitment to a 40‑hour per week, in‑person schedule, including travel to other campuses as needed.
