Instructor – Nursing

About the role

The Georgia State Government, through Gwinnett Technical College, seeks a full‑time Instructor to teach nursing courses on the Alpharetta North Fulton campus. This position blends classroom instruction with clinical teaching, supporting students pursuing careers in medical‑surgical and critical‑care nursing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans for accredited nursing courses, emphasizing medical‑surgical and critical‑care content.
• Assess student performance, provide feedback, and maintain academic records.
• Manage classroom and clinical supplies, prepare budget requests, and ensure program certification compliance.
• Participate in curriculum development, course revisions, and faculty workshops.
• Collaborate with staff, students, and community partners to enhance learning outcomes.

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in nursing (or pursuing a Master’s with at least 18 graduate hours completed).
• Current Georgia RN licensure.
• Credentialed to meet regulatory and accrediting body standards for assigned courses.
• Two years of college‑level nursing instruction or two years of medical‑surgical RN experience (preferred).

Required skills

• RN licensure (Georgia).
• BLS certification (required) and ACLS certification (preferred).
• Experience with simulation technology and advanced instructional tools.
• Proficiency in online instruction platforms and standard computer software.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
