Instructor, M.A.T. Generalist (Higher Education)

About the role

The Eriksson College of Education seeks an Instructor for the Masters of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) Generalist program. This full‑time faculty position will begin on July 31, 2026 and involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising a large cohort of teacher‑licensing students, and contributing to departmental initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Teaching and Learning.
• Advise and manage a caseload of approximately 300 M.A.T. and K‑12 teacher licensing certificate students.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the College’s mission and participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.
• Engage in curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean.

Required profile

• Earned doctoral degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
• Strong communication abilities and capacity to interact effectively with diverse university and public populations.
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Preferred: at least three years of university and/or K‑12 teaching experience and experience advising students.
