Instructional Designer III – Academic Technology

About the role

The Instructional Designer III provides leadership and oversight for the course design and development team within Texas A&M University Health Science Center. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic Technology, this role drives the creation of classroom, hybrid, and online learning experiences for health‑science programs and leads faculty and staff training in instructional design and andragogy.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with instructors and subject‑matter experts to design and develop online, blended, and web‑enhanced courses across health‑science disciplines.
• Lead faculty and staff through the instructional design process, recommending evidence‑based instructional strategies.
• Manage project timelines and resources for course development initiatives.
• Develop and deliver training programs on instructional design, learning technologies, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and university policies for educational technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum four years of instructional design or related experience.
• Preferred Master’s degree in Instructional or Learning Design and Technology.
• Strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems and university‑wide technologies (Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
• Experience creating instructional media trainings for faculty or staff.
• Ability to multitask, work cooperatively, and present information clearly.
