Inspection License Automotive Technician

About the role

Monro is seeking an Inspection License Automotive Technician for its retail location in Huntingdon, NY. The Technician performs basic vehicle diagnostics and routine repair and maintenance in line with company standards and manufacturer specifications, delivering 5-star guest service through clear communication of issues and solutions. The position is full-time or part-time and is paid hourly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs.
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional services and repairs, and audit courtesy inspections done by General Service Technicians.
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts and stocking inventory.
• Help keep the store clean and in guest-ready condition.
• Perform services according to safety standards such as wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
• Test drive vehicles under the Road Test policy using the dedicated test drive routes.
• Follow company policies, environmental codes and OSHA standards, and complete required Monro University training.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely, including lifts, welders and brake lathes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Automotive training in basic maintenance and repair, or equivalent education and experience.
• ASE certification and a state inspection license (where applicable) preferred.
• Current valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report.
• Owns a basic set of tools or joins the tool purchase program.
• Able to work flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays, and to lift up to 50 lbs.

Required skills

• Basic automotive maintenance, repair and tire services.
• Problem diagnosis and ability to interpret written, oral and diagram instructions.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
