Information Technology Technician

About the role

Brooklyn Community Services is seeking an Information Technology Technician to work closely with the IT Director on a variety of projects across its multiple sites. The role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, printer, and network issues while providing reliable support to staff in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve PC hardware/software, printer, and network problems throughout the agency.
• Provide on‑site assistance to staff for computer, network, and email usage.
• Respond to help‑desk tickets promptly and document resolutions.
• Travel to various Brooklyn locations to address technical issues.
• Perform daily backups and routine server maintenance as needed.
• Maintain hardware inventory and track purchases.
• Create new user accounts in Active Directory and email systems.
• Assist with additional IT tasks as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Experience working in a Windows environment.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and take initiative.

• TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP configuration
• VOIP systems
• Backup systems
• Cisco Meraki networking equipment
• Computer hardware and software troubleshooting
• A+ Certification (preferred)

• Competitive salary of $50,000 per year
• Full‑time, 35‑hour work week (Monday‑Friday)
