Information Security Specialist

About the role

The Information Security Specialist will work closely with multiple teams across Pearson and Pearson Professional Assessments, providing subject‑matter expertise on security services and supporting the execution of departmental strategies. The role involves direct interaction with clients, handling security communications, investigations, and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary security point of contact for assigned clients, managing day‑to‑day communications, client discussions, and ad‑hoc security inquiries.
• Conduct web monitoring, online investigations, and cyber‑intelligence gathering for clients.
• Perform data forensics investigations, produce related reports, and deliver findings to clients.
• Respond to client requests, review testing session videos, and investigate candidate misconduct incidents.
• Maintain and update security template libraries to reflect current practices and technology.
• Provide internal and external consulting on information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of investigations or data‑analysis experience.
• Experience in a client‑facing role with regular stakeholder interaction.
• Consulting, Big 4, or public‑accounting background preferred.
• Experience in the computer‑based testing industry is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and produce accurate documentation.
