About the role
Voyager Technologies is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join its defense and aerospace manufacturing facility in Minden, Louisiana. The role supports a PSM and DoD‑regulated energetic materials and explosives operation, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. The technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and works on‑site.
Key responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems, including rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps, and production machinery.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems up to 480 V, covering motors, starters, variable‑frequency drives (VFDs), and field wiring.
- Support basic controls and PLC troubleshooting, identify faults, assist with I/O checks, and coordinate with external controls resources.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks generated from the CMMS to maximize equipment reliability.
- Install, align, and commission new equipment and components, ensuring mechanical integrity and proper integration.
- Maintain and repair facility utilities such as compressed air, HVAC, boilers, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Follow and enforce safety procedures, including lock‑out/tag‑out, explosive‑handling protocols, and PPE requirements in a high‑hazard environment.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issues in real time, including working on equipment during active operations when required.
Required profile
- Proven experience maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with high‑hazard environments, especially those involving energetic materials or explosives.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and capacity to work under pressure during active production.
- Commitment to strict safety and regulatory compliance.
