Industrial Maintenance Technician (Onsite, Minden, LA)

About the role

Voyager Technologies is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join its high‑hazard, defense‑focused manufacturing site in Minden, LA. The role supports a PSM and DoD‑regulated energetic materials and explosives operation, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems such as rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps, and production machinery.
• Diagnose and fix electrical systems up to 480 V, including motors, starters, VFDs, and field wiring.
• Provide basic controls and PLC troubleshooting with guidance, including fault identification and I/O checks.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks generated from the CMMS to minimize downtime.
• Install, align, and commission new equipment, ensuring mechanical integrity and system integration.
• Maintain facility utilities and infrastructure, including compressed air, HVAC, boilers, plumbing, and general building systems.
• Follow lock‑out/tag‑out, explosive‑handling protocols, and PPE requirements in a high‑hazard environment.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issues in real time, even during active operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Ability to work safely in high‑hazard, explosives‑handling environments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to work on equipment during production runs.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting of rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps.
• Electrical troubleshooting up to 480 V, motors, starters, VFDs, field wiring.
• PLC and basic controls troubleshooting.
• CMMS usage for preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Installation, alignment, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Maintenance of compressed air, HVAC, boiler, and plumbing systems.
• Lock‑out/tag‑out and explosive‑handling safety procedures.
