Industrial Hydraulic Mechanic

About the role

Moog is seeking an experienced Industrial Hydraulic Mechanic to join its onsite team in Buffalo, NY. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting critical hydraulic, heating, water, air, and gas systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation of plant equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and operate equipment across hydraulic, heating, water, air, and gas systems.
• Determine optimal locations and methods for instrument, valve, and control hook‑ups, including cutting, threading, flaring, soldering, brazing, and welding tubing and piping.
• Perform functional checks on installed systems to verify safe operation.
• Design and build special test equipment for engineering needs.
• Maintain and replace test equipment and central system components.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, replace faulty parts such as hydraulic pumps, and coordinate with electricians and other repair personnel.
• Monitor oil levels, drain, clean, and replace filters, and report any contamination.
• Observe unusual conditions and promptly notify supervisors or technical staff.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English and perform basic math.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience with industrial hydraulic or mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with measuring devices, hand tools, and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and layouts.
• Willingness to work a rotating night shift schedule, including weekends and overtime as needed.
