Industrial Engineer – Continuous Improvement Champion

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking an Industrial Engineer to lead continuous‑improvement initiatives in avionics manufacturing. You will apply lean and Six Sigma methods to optimise production, enhance quality, and reduce costs while ensuring compliance with design and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to design and improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and production controls.
• Lead lean‑based projects to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and boost throughput.
• Design tooling, jigs, fixtures and workstations for assembly, test and inspection.
• Develop and validate standard work, operation sequences, assembly guides and work instructions.
• Support new product introduction with capacity planning, process flow design and layout optimisation.
• Perform time studies, line balancing and ergonomic reviews.
• Investigate production issues, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain process documentation, routing cards, FMEA, control plans and calibration records.
• Provide training and technical guidance to manufacturing personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Up to five years of experience supporting operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills for cross‑functional coordination.

Required skills

• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (PDCA, DMAIC).
• Value stream mapping and root‑cause analysis tools (5‑Why, Fishbone, Cause Mapping).
• Proficiency with engineering drawings, schematics and bills of materials.
• Experience with FMEA, control plans and process documentation.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• SolidWorks and process simulation tools.
