Incinerator Operator

About the role

Veolia is seeking an experienced Incinerator Operator to manage the chemical waste incineration process at a power‑plant facility. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant disposal of solid and liquid waste while maintaining equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, start‑up and shut‑down incineration and accessory equipment, including APC systems.
• Adjust control panels to keep parameters within permit limits and ensure proper equipment function.
• Respond to alarms, direct field personnel, and take corrective actions during emergencies.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, burn plans, downtime logs, and verify kiln data for regulatory compliance.
• Follow daily burn plans, report discrepancies, and note maintenance needs.
• Assist with routine maintenance and ensure a clean, organized work area free of spills, leaks, or fire hazards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (required); Associate’s degree in an environmental field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in hazardous waste industry or power‑plant control room operations.
• Must obtain and maintain an Arkansas Boiler License.
• Ability to acquire respirator certification, fit‑test compliance, and complete Hazwoper (40 hours) and Emergency Response Team training.
