In-School Chef – No Weekends/Holidays

About the role

The Chef position offers a stable weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or major holidays, preparing scratch-made, culturally relevant meals for hundreds of students each day in a school kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high‑quality, culturally relevant meals following recipes and menu plans.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, complete temperature logs, and follow allergy procedures.
• Present meals attractively, keep them at proper temperature, and ensure timely service.
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff, responding to feedback and service needs.
• Organize station, track inventory, and submit meal counts and daily reports using company systems.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional culinary experience in a fast‑paced kitchen.
• Strong hands‑on cooking skills with consistent, high‑quality output.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and reliable follow‑through.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Proficiency with software, apps, or spreadsheets for daily reporting.
