In-Person High-Impact Tutor for Grades 5‑8 (ELA or Math)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic In‑Person Tutor to deliver high‑impact, small‑group instruction to students in grades 5‑8 at Pennsauken Public Schools. Tutors will focus on either English Language Arts (ELA) or Mathematics, helping learners close significant academic gaps and reach grade‑level proficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide small‑group tutoring sessions (up to 4 students) in ELA or Math during the school day.
• Adapt lessons for students performing two or more grade levels below expectations, including those with IEPs or multilingual backgrounds.
• Track and report student progress toward the program’s 60% growth target.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align tutoring content with classroom instruction.
• Maintain a supportive learning environment in both push‑in (classroom) and pull‑out settings.
• Record attendance and performance data accurately.

Required profile

• Experience working with students in grades 5‑8, preferably in ELA or Math.
• Ability to manage small groups and engage learners below grade level.
• Comfortable working in both push‑in and pull‑out instructional formats.
• Reliable, in‑person availability between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM EDT.
• Successful completion of background check and any district‑required clearances.
