In-House Litigation Counsel

About the role

Autzu is seeking an In‑House Litigation Counsel to lead complex commercial and employment disputes, support regulatory matters, and advise on high‑stakes negotiations as the company expands its autonomous electric vehicle fleet operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex commercial litigation from pre‑dispute strategy through resolution, coordinating with outside counsel as needed.
• Negotiate commercial agreements including site/utility contracts, equipment finance, and vendor partnerships.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts such as NDAs, employment agreements, SaaS/vendor contracts, and regulatory filings.
• Provide legal guidance to leadership on commercial, regulatory, and operational issues related to fleet operations, utilities, and infrastructure.
• Develop internal legal templates, policies, and SOPs to streamline dispute resolution and compliance.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks across operations, HR, fleet, and finance departments.
• Support fundraising and investor diligence with legal documentation and risk assessment.
• Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and other C‑suite leaders on long‑term market strategy.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active membership in the California Bar (required); admission to the New York Bar or willingness to sit for the exam (preferred).
• Minimum three years of experience handling complex commercial litigation at a top law firm or in‑house.
• Proven success negotiating high‑value, multi‑party agreements.
• Experience with utilities, infrastructure, or regulatory matters (strongly preferred).
