In-Classroom Primary Assistant

About the role

The Lycée Français de New York is seeking a dedicated In-Classroom Primary Assistant to support the safety, well‑being, and learning environment of its preschool students. Working on‑site Monday through Friday, you will collaborate closely with teachers and staff to ensure a nurturing, inclusive classroom experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment at all times.
• Enforce school rules and regulations while modeling appropriate conduct.
• Assist the assigned primary class teacher with daily classroom activities and supervision.
• Adapt to occasional reassignment to other classes or duties as needed.
• Participate in after‑school meetings and respond flexibly to unexpected schedule changes.
• Communicate openly with colleagues, administration, and families to foster a collaborative culture.
