Identity & Driver Credential Specialist (Level 1) – Decatur

About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking an Identity & Driver Credential Specialist (Level 1) to join its Decatur office. In this full‑time position you will help residents obtain learner’s permits, driver licenses, and state‑issued identity cards while delivering courteous, accurate service.

Key responsibilities

• Issue learner’s permits, driver licenses and identity cards in compliance with state regulations.
• Convert out‑of‑state licenses and assist new residents with credentialing.
• Administer written and road‑test examinations for first‑time drivers.
• Handle high‑volume customer interactions, including difficult or irate situations.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure attention to detail in all transactions.
• Provide guidance to lower‑level staff and may act as a team lead when required.
