About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking a full‑time Identity & Driver Credential Specialist (Level 1) to work at its Carrollton location. In this customer‑focused position you will help residents obtain learner permits, driver licenses, and state‑issued identity cards while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Issue learner permits, driver licenses, and identity cards to the public.
• Convert out‑of‑state licenses and assist newcomers with credential transitions.
• Administer written and road tests for first‑time drivers.
• Maintain accurate records and follow established guidelines for credential issuance.
• Handle high‑volume customer interactions, including irate or distressed patrons.
• Assist with incident reporting such as slip‑and‑falls or road‑test accidents.
• May serve as a team lead for lower‑level staff as needed.
