About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking an Identity & Driver Credential Specialist 1 to join its Covington office. In this full‑time position you will assist residents with driver‑related services, from issuing learner permits to processing out‑of‑state license conversions, while delivering courteous, accurate service.

Key responsibilities

• Issue learner permits, driver licenses, and state identity cards in compliance with Georgia law.
• Administer written and road examinations for first‑time drivers.
• Convert out‑of‑state licenses and registrations to Georgia credentials.
• Provide front‑line customer service, answering inquiries and guiding applicants through required procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all transactions meet regulatory standards.
• Support the department’s mission of secure, reliable credential issuance.
