About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is seeking an Identity & Driver Credential Specialist 1 to serve the public in Athens, GA. In this full‑time position you will help residents obtain learner permits, driver licenses and identity cards while delivering courteous, accurate service.

Key responsibilities

• Issue learner permits, driver licenses, and identity cards in compliance with state laws.
• Assist customers with converting out‑of‑state licenses and handling examinations.
• Manage high‑volume service counters, addressing inquiries, complaints, and incident situations.
• Provide guidance to first‑time drivers and support senior staff as a team lead when required.
