About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking an Identity & Driver Credential Specialist 1 to serve the public in Athens, GA. In this full‑time position you will help residents obtain learner’s permits, driver licenses, and state‑issued identity cards while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Issue learner’s permits to teenagers and first‑time drivers.
• Convert out‑of‑state licenses for newcomers.
• Administer road‑tests and written examinations.
• Issue state‑approved identity cards and driver licenses.
• Handle high‑volume customer interactions, including irate customers and incident reports.
• Assist with team leadership duties for lower‑level staff when required.
