About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking an Identity and Driver Credential Specialist (Level 1) to join its Decatur location. In this full‑time position you will assist residents with licensing, identification cards, and related services while upholding state regulations and delivering courteous customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Issue learner’s permits, driver licenses, and state identity cards following established procedures.
• Convert out‑of‑state licenses and assist newcomers with credential transitions.
• Administer written and road tests for first‑time drivers.
• Handle high‑volume customer interactions, including irate or distressed patrons.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state laws.
• May act as team lead for lower‑level staff in busy centers.
