Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1 – Athens

About the role

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking an Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1 to join its Athens office. In this full‑time position you will assist residents with driver licensing and identity documentation, ensuring compliance with state regulations while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Issue learner’s permits, driver licenses and state identity cards to the public.
• Process out‑of‑state license conversions and verify documentation.
• Administer written and road tests for new drivers.
• Handle high‑volume customer interactions, including difficult or irate situations.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all transactions follow established guidelines.
• Provide guidance and support to lower‑level staff as a team lead when required.
