HVAC/Duct Superintendent – Mechanical Construction

About the role

The HVAC/Duct Superintendent will lead field operations for commercial sheet‑metal ductwork installations on large‑scale construction projects throughout the Southeast. Reporting to project leadership, this hands‑on construction professional ensures safety, quality, and schedule adherence from installation through final completion.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily installation activities for commercial HVAC duct systems on projects ranging from $500K to $100M.
• Supervise sheet‑metal crews, subcontractors, and vendors while coordinating field logistics.
• Review construction and shop drawings, specifications, and schedules to sequence work effectively.
• Ensure installations meet project specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
• Partner with Project Managers, engineers, and operations leaders to maintain productivity and schedule targets.
• Monitor manpower, production rates, and labor utilization, adjusting staffing as needed.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies on site.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts, design discrepancies, and installation challenges.
• Coordinate material deliveries, inventory, and equipment to support uninterrupted production.
• Conduct quality inspections and provide regular progress updates to project leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial HVAC/Duct installation and supervision.
• Proven ability to lead large crews and manage complex field operations.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to make quick decisions on site.
