HVAC Utilities Technician – Menomonie, WI

About the role

3M is seeking an HVAC Utilities Technician to join its Menomonie, WI manufacturing site. You will help keep the plant’s heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and utility systems operating safely and efficiently while supporting continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Follow safe work practices and identify hazards.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and service HVAC, utility, and process support equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on boilers, steam systems, pumps, refrigeration units, controls, and piping.
• Recommend equipment improvements to boost performance and efficiency.
• Document all work in an electronic logbook and foster an inclusive work environment.

Required profile

• Associate degree in HVAC Technology (or within 6 months of completion) or a technical diploma with at least two years of HVAC maintenance experience.
• EPA Universal certification or ability to obtain it for refrigerant handling.
• Reliable transportation to Menomonie, WI (or willingness to relocate).
• Completion of a job‑related readiness assessment.

Required skills

• HVAC system maintenance and repair.
• Boiler, steam, pump, and refrigeration equipment knowledge.
• Control systems, PLCs, AC/DC drives, motors, pneumatic and electric devices.
• Refrigerant handling and EPA Universal certification.
