HVAC Estimator Apprentice – New Construction

About the role

R.J. Kielty Plumbing, Air & Electric is seeking a motivated New Construction HVAC Estimator Apprentice to join its New Port Richey office. This position is ideal for someone with HVAC field experience who wants to develop a career in estimating.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preparing accurate HVAC estimates for residential new‑construction projects.
• Review construction plans, specifications, and equipment requirements.
• Perform material takeoffs and help calculate labor and equipment costs.
• Enter and maintain project information in estimating and bid‑tracking software.
• Communicate with builders, vendors, and internal team members.
• Help ensure bids are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.

Required profile

• Strong computer skills.
• Prior HVAC installation experience (preferred).
• Ability to read, or willingness to learn how to read, construction plans.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with numbers, measurements, and deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Willingness to learn HVAC estimating software and industry requirements.
• Dependable, professional, and team‑oriented.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
