Human Resources Specialist – Recruiter (Part‑Time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time, temporary Human Resources Specialist focused on recruitment to join the State of Georgia’s HR team in Statesboro. Reporting to the Executive Director for Human Resources, you will help deliver a positive employee experience across the agency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle recruitment: create requisitions, post vacancies, source and prescreen candidates, schedule interviews, extend offers and coordinate new‑employee orientation.
• Answer employee benefit questions, communicate updates and assist with enrollment.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and agency labor regulations and safety standards.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns and grievances.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and team‑dynamic issues.
• Assist managers with performance‑goal setting, reviews and development plans.
• Administer health, retirement and wellness benefit programs.
• Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and HRIS data.
• Prepare HR reports and analytics to monitor workforce trends.
• Stay current on employment laws, agency policies and HR best practices.

Required profile

• Works under the supervision of the Executive Director for Human Resources.
• Demonstrated ability to handle recruitment and general HR functions in a government or large‑enterprise environment.

Required skills

• Experience with HR information systems (HRIS).
