Human Resources Manager

About the role

POWDR, an adventure lifestyle company operating seven mountain resorts and Zion Lodge in Zion National Park, is hiring a Human Resources Manager for Destination Zion Lodge. The lodge employs between 77 and 150 staff depending on the season and the role reports directly to the General Manager. Housing is provided on site and the schedule may include weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leadership on the HR and talent strategy, covering recruitment, retention and succession planning
• Manage recruitment, interviewing and hiring, especially for managerial, exempt and professional roles
• Lead onboarding, training, development, OSHA and EEOC compliance and performance reviews
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and review policies
• Oversee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations, and guide HR generalists and management
• Analyze compensation and benefits trends and propose competitive pay programs
• Create learning and development programs and keep HRIS, LMS and risk management systems up to date
• Oversee employee housing standards, wellness programs and ESQ documentation, including audit preparation
• Ensure regular Job Safety and Hazard Analysis, new hire and recurrent training, and emergency drills

Required profile

• At least two years in an HR management position; hospitality experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Able to work in Zion National Park and live on site
• Good judgment, honesty and integrity, and excellent verbal and written communication

Required skills

• Cloud-based databases and HRIS/LMS systems
• Records and document control
• Knowledge of ESQ procedures and ISO management system standards
