Human Resources Manager

About the role

Transdev is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to support its management team in Jefferson Parish, LA. The role focuses on full‑cycle recruiting, employee relations, and ensuring a safe, respectful workplace while complying with both union and non‑union requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Create strategic partnerships with operating management to develop HR policies and initiatives.
• Administer and monitor compliance with company policies, discipline procedures, and employee‑relations programs.
• Support business needs related to HIPAA/PHI, hiring, employee engagement, and workplace safety.
• Maintain employee handbooks, recognition programs, and HR documentation.
• Develop proactive employee‑relations strategies for union and non‑union staff, including drivers and shop personnel.
• Provide guidance to branch managers on dispute resolution, handbook interpretation, disciplinary actions, and statutory obligations.
• Oversee payroll functions, accounts payable, fare collections, and coordinate benefits administration such as pension, union dues, unemployment, workers’ compensation, disability, and leave requests.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of direct experience managing human resources and labor relations.
• Proven experience in recruitment, terminations, benefits, and compensation administration.
• Strong knowledge of employee‑file management and HR best practices.
• Ability to work in a union and non‑union environment and handle DOT drug‑testing requirements when applicable.

Required skills

• HIPAA/PHI compliance awareness
• DOT regulation familiarity (49 CFR Part 40)

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from $63,000 to $78,000 per year.
