Human Resource Manager – Eastman YDC (Georgia)

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Human Resource Manager for the Eastman Youth Development Center. This role oversees personnel functions, payroll, benefits, and recruitment for the facility, ensuring compliance with state policies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and plan work for assigned HR staff.
• Answer employee and management inquiries on personnel and payroll matters.
• Calculate payroll, process deductions, and enter data into the system.
• Coordinate hiring processes, complete required forms, and obtain clearances.
• Develop and update personnel policies, procedures, and related laws.
• Explain benefits and HR policies to employees and authorized persons.
• Process employee paychecks, earnings statements, and benefit enrollments.
• Provide information on payroll, tax issues, and benefit plans.
• Review payroll computations to detect and reconcile discrepancies.
• Verify attendance, hours worked, and post adjustments to records.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED.
• Four years of HR experience, including at least one year in a supervisory or lead role.
• Knowledge of personnel transactions, benefits, record management, payroll, and applicant processing.

Required skills

• Kronos time‑keeping system.
