HR Generalist – Payroll & Benefits Focus

About the role
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with a strong focus on payroll and benefits to help build and scale the HR function of ZeroTouch as it becomes a standalone organization. In this role you will design and maintain processes, support employees and managers, and ensure smooth HR operations as the company grows.
Key responsibilities
- Support payroll administration and coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure accurate, timely processing.
- Administer employee benefits programs, handling enrollments, changes, education, and vendor coordination.
- Manage onboarding and off‑boarding activities to create a positive employee experience throughout the lifecycle.
- Maintain employee records and ensure accurate HR data and documentation.
- Assist with leave administration, accommodations, workers’ compensation, and unemployment claims.
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Support HR audits, reporting, and documentation.
- Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and company events.
- Document and improve HR processes and procedures as the organization scales.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employee and manager questions on HR policies, benefits, payroll, and employment practices.
- Provide general administrative support across HR and office operations as needed.
Required profile
- Organized and detail‑oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Clear written and verbal communicator.
- Professional handling of confidential information with discretion.
- Proactive problem‑solver who enjoys improving processes.
- Adaptable and comfortable in a changing environment.
- Collaborative team player who builds positive working relationships.
Required skills
- 3–7 years progressive Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, and HR operations.
- Working knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
