HR Generalist 1

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources is seeking an HR Generalist to serve as the primary human‑resources contact for the Law Enforcement Division. In this role you will partner with the Office of Human Resources to ensure personnel matters are handled accurately and consistently across the division.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process personnel action requests and supporting documentation.
• Act as the Division’s liaison with the Office of Human Resources, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
• Assist in preparing, reviewing, and processing hiring recommendation packages.
• Support FMLA and other employee leave administration.
• Help employees and supervisors with workers’ compensation claims and required documentation.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and mandatory training compliance for new hires.
• Maintain personnel records in accordance with Department requirements.
• Answer HR‑related questions from supervisors and command staff.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• At least two years of experience performing human‑resources or personnel‑related duties.
• Experience reviewing and processing DNR hiring recommendation packages.
• Familiarity with personnel action processing and record maintenance.
• Knowledge of employee onboarding and new‑hire processes.
