HR Business Partner

About the role

We are seeking an HR Business Partner to support our Wood Product Operations in DeRidder, LA. Reporting to the Regional HR Manager, you will partner with operations leaders and HR Centers of Excellence to align people strategies with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultation and advice on company policies, employee relations and HR management to HR Managers and Operations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, including EEOC, unemployment compensation and safety regulations.
• Partner with senior HR leadership to drive strategic HR initiatives, aligning programs and projects with business goals.
• Act as HR project manager for mill acquisitions and new mill openings planned for 2024‑2025.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to design and deliver onboarding, leadership and technical training, supporting apprenticeship and industrial leadership programs.
• Support performance review, talent review and career development processes, acting as a talent ambassador for high‑potential employees.
• Coordinate with Safety Manager on workers’ compensation, DOT, OSHA and EPA compliance.
• Facilitate all employment activities and maintain accurate employee records in partnership with HR and mill management.

Required profile

• Strong relationship‑building and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough knowledge of HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in HR project management, especially related to acquisitions or new site openings.
• Ability to support training initiatives and talent development programs.
