Housing Rights Staff Attorney (Senior Level)

About the role

The Asian Law Caucus is seeking a Housing Rights Staff Attorney (or Senior Staff Attorney) to provide legal representation for low‑income tenants across the Bay Area. This hybrid, full‑time position combines direct client advocacy with impact litigation and policy work.

Key responsibilities

• Represent individual tenants and tenant groups in housing disputes, evictions, and discrimination cases.
• Develop and support impact litigation strategies that advance anti‑displacement policies.
• Collaborate with community coalitions, grassroots advocates, and policy makers to shape systemic housing reforms.
• Provide holistic legal services and conduct know‑your‑rights education for low‑income and immigrant tenants.
• Travel throughout Northern California to attend meetings, hearings, and community events.

Required profile

• J.D. degree and active membership in the California Bar.
• Ability to work on‑site in San Francisco two days per week and travel as needed.
• Commitment to advancing housing justice for low‑income communities of color.
