Housekeeper – Islander Housing

About the role

The Islander Housing team at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi is seeking a reliable Housekeeper to maintain clean and safe living spaces for students and staff. You will be responsible for routine cleaning of resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and bathrooms on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities

• Vacuum carpeted areas in resident rooms, hallways, and common spaces.
• Mop and clean tile surfaces in rooms and shared areas.
• Empty trash receptacles in assigned zones.
• Clean bathrooms, including tubs, showers, and toilets.
• Restock custodial supplies and report maintenance issues via work orders.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Knowledge of safety equipment (AED, fire extinguishers) and proper cleaning methods.
• Ability to work outdoors in temperature extremes and tolerate high noise levels.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lb repeatedly.
• Commitment to a drug‑free workplace.
