Hotel Controller – Financial Leadership Role

About the role

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Controller to lead the financial function of its New Orleans luxury property. The role combines strategic oversight with day‑to‑day accounting responsibilities, ensuring accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for the property on time.
• Record daily hotel revenues through the Income Journal and monitor variances to budget and prior year.
• Manage cash flow, operating forecasts, and bank and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Collaborate with department heads to keep operations on track and under control.
• Supervise the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight.
• Ensure compliance with Highgate accounting policies, internal controls, and all applicable regulations.
• Oversee receivables, payables, daily cash balances, and timely deposits.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership in an accounting or finance environment.
• Strong focus on profitability, accuracy, and safeguarding assets.
• Ability to maintain rigorous internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Experience supervising accounting staff and coordinating with multiple departments.
